Sivavakkiyar Siddhar (சித்தர் சிவவாக்கியர்).

                    பாரும் விண்ணும் எங்குமாய்ப் பரந்த அப்பராபரம்.
                    ஊரும் நாடும் கடுமோடி உழன்று தேடும் ஊமைகாள்,
                    நேரதாக உம்முளே அறிந்துணர்ந்து நில்லுமே.
                    
                 2. நாலுவேதம் ஓதுவீர், ஞானபாதம் அறிகிலீர்,
                    பாலுள் நெய்கலந்தவாறு பாவிகாள்! அறிகிலீர்,
                    ஆலமுண்ட கண்டனார் அகத்துளே இருக்கவே
                    காலனென்றும் சொல்லுவீர், கனாவிலும் அஃதில்லையே. 
                    
                 3. அறிவிலே புறந்திருந்து ஆகமங்கள் ஓதுறீர்,
                    நெறியிலே மயங்குகின்ற நேர்மைஒன்று  அறிகிலீர்,
                    உறியிலே தயிர் இருக்க ஊர்புகுந்து வெண்ணைதேடும்
                    அறிவிலாத மாந்தரோடு அணுகுமாறது எங்ஙனே?
                    
                 4. மூலநாடி தன்னிலே முளைதேழுந்த சோதியை
                    நாலுநாழி உம்முளே நாடியே இருந்தபின்
                    பாலனாகி வாழலாம் பரப்பிரம்ம ஆகலாம்
                    ஆலமுண்ட கண்டர்ஆணை அம்மைஆணை உண்மையே 
       
விளக்கம்:
பாலுள் நெய் கலந்திருப்பது போல, இறைவன் குண்டலி என்னும் வடிவில் நம் உடலிலேயே 
இருக்க, அவனை நாடி என்றும் பாலனாக வாழ வழி அறியாமல், காடு, மேடு, நாடு என 
அலைந்து, வேதங்களும், சாத்திரங்களும் பாராயணம் செய்யும் மாந்தர்களை, வீட்டிலே தயிர்
இருக்க வெண்ணெய் தேடி வெளியே அலையும் முட்டாள்கள் என்கிறார் சிவவாக்கியர்.

Revolution and anthropology is his trade mark, one such person was Siddhar Sivavaakiyar, even before thousand years, he reprimanded mere rituals and caste system.
His content speaks volume about philosophies, superstitions etc. And more importantly his works imparts values to readers of all age.
He is one among the celebrated 18 Siddhas and considered as a revolutionary Siddhar.
Sivavakkiyar Siddhar was born with chanting lord Shiva’s name, hence named Sivavakkiyar.
He condemned the caste system before anybody could think of evils of the caste system.
His works reinstates the philosophies of Thirumoolar “All belong to same kind and god is one”.
Sivavakkiyar Siddhar’s parents were metal smiths, who forged idols of god to win the bread.
His parents also had the blessings and lived by the side of Siddhars.
His parents wanted him to become a great Siddha and hence Sivavakkiyar met the 18 Siddhas to learn Siddha.
He became expert in Siddha medicine, Siddha yoga and gnana philosophies.
Since Sivavakkiyar Siddhar was a prolific thinker, he has penned lot of songs which is of high social philosophical values.
Through the travails of his life, he awakened and brought the energy through all the chakras to up and worshiped manonmani in 1008 petaled full blooming lotus.
He is a great renunciate (i.e… devoid of all the materialistic desires), who once dropped the gold bars into well given to him by Konganavar Siddhar.

“Āuppadai means “showing the path to the people”. This concept has two aspects in the teachings and philosophy of Sivavākkiyar- one positive and the other negative. In the negative aspect, Sivavākkiyar emphasizes “what one shall not do” in order to achieve self -realization. The concepts he admonishes are spiritual and social hypocrisies. In his list of “what one shall do” he recommends Siva yoga, respecting the guru, offering alms to the needy and living a life seeking realization. He not only gives a philosophical exposition on the concept of pati, pasu and pāsam but also a procedure to reach the state of realization, the state of Siva. He begins his composition stating clearly that he will be describing the rare mantra namacivaya which is the origin and terminus of everything, the mantra uttered by millions of celestials before, the “Shiva sentence” and that he plans to do so by contemplating on the curved letter (aum) so that sins and delusion will run away.”

Sivavākkiyar vehemently reprimands practicing caste-based and gender-based discrimination, performing rituals mindlessly, cheating people in the name of spirituality/religion and holding on to illogical practices.
